Education and Community Outreach

Did you know that most human activity on land has an impact on our drinking water? It is because of this close link between our personal lives and habits, the environment, and our water resources that Aquarion Water Company of Connecticut has created an educational program that helps students to understand and accept the role each person must play to protect the quality of all water.

Offered free of charge to schools within our service area, this program focuses on water science and the environment, and has been developed to supplement existing school curriculum. It is designed to be hands-on for grades Kindergarten through eighth grade, and can be presented in the classroom by a Aquarion Water Company of Connecticut water quality expert. The program also offers tours of our water treatment plant, visits to our fish ladder, and hikes through our watershed.

At Aquarion Water Company of Connecticut, we are committed to responsibly invest in the communities in which we live and work. In fact, it's an integral part of our mission. The following describes some of the many community programs that we sponsor.

Aquarion Water Company recently participated in Stratford Senior Services' "Fashion Show of Uniform Awareness." Uniformed employees of local utility companies as well as delivery services and municipal personnel modeled their uniforms and displayed their identification badges in an effort to educate seniors.

Aquarion employee Tony Dastoli modeled Aquarion's uniform, which consists of an orange shirt with the Aquarion logo and an identification badge.

Members of the Senior Center enjoyed the water bottles donated by Aquarion.
