Aquarion Water Company of Connecticut in the spring of 2002 sold the
State of Connecticut and The Nature Conservancy rights to 15,300 acres
of watershed land. Through a natural resources management agreement
with these organizations, Aquarion plays an important role in the
preservation of
open space for all of Connecticut’s citizens as we work to continuously
provide an ample supply of clean, safe water to our customers. Your
appreciation for the environment and these pristine properties will
help to keep this property the way nature intended.
Aquarion
Water of Connecticut takes pride in the satisfaction and joy we bring
to our customers and neighbors. Currently, public access opportunities
are available on designated properties in Fairfield County, and
resource management plans are being developed that will provide for
more public access in the future.
If you
enjoy fishing, hiking, and bird watching or just simply have a love for
the great outdoors, please call our Watershed and Environmental
Management Department at
203-452-3510 for information on existing recreation opportunities
We will
provide you with information about obtaining a fishing permit, as well
as a free copy of our trail map and recreation program brochure. Or you can download it by clicking here.
